THE HOPE CENTERS PROVIDES STEPPING STONE FOR ASPIRING BEHAVIOR TECHNICIANS

September 23, 2019

The New Paraprofessional to Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Program.

The Hope Centers, a leading provider of special needs services in the Pittsburgh area, recently announced a paraprofessional to Registered Behavior Technician transitional employment program across its Western Pennsylvania Campuses. The program seeks to provide a springboard for paraprofessionals who would like to get valuable experience on the path to obtaining full-time work as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).

Corporate Recruiter, Tamika Grant, says it’s a much needed option for those seeking job advancement in the competitive behavior field. “We’ve had an extremely positive response to our program,” says Mrs. Grant. “It’s difficult to gain a foothold in the behavioral field because making that leap from paraprofessional to the more lucrative Registered Behavior Technician requires additional coursework and real-life experience. By offering employment as a paraprofessional and paying for our employees’ RBT coursework, we are ensuring that our talented workers are given the opportunity to reach their full potential while taking the burden of cost off their shoulders.”

According to clinical news provider Healio, there is a shortage of Applied Behavior Analysis Clinics for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Early detection and intervention has been shown to be an effective tool in treating those with ASD. The Hope Centers’ CEO, Asha Persaud, says, “The rigorous training involved in becoming a registered behavior technician ensures that the methods and ethics involved in certification are translated to the treatment program of each individual child.”
