Grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the “Hope Hut” to be held at Miracle League Field, Graham Park. On Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 10:15 am The Hope for Autism Foundation in conjunction with The Miracle League of Southwestern Pennsylvania will host the grand opening of the “Hope Hut” at the Miracle Field in Graham Park, Cranberry Township, PA.
The Hope for Autism Foundation, a non-profit foundation with a mission of providing hope and improving the quality of life for individuals with autism and their families, constructed the “Hope Hut” pavilion at the Miracle Field to serve as a sensory refuge for players and families of The Miracle League of Southwestern PA. With this new space, players and families will be able to take advantage of a shaded cool space that will be fully equipped with materials for those in need of sensory breaks before, during and after games. The hut will only add to the magnificent experience for those with special needs who participate in the baseball league.
The mission of MLSWPA is to provide the opportunity for children with special needs a chance to experience playing baseball in a league-based environment. MLSWPA provides leadership and facilities for a baseball program for children with special needs in a manner consistent with MLSWPA and community values. With a specially designed rubber turf field, MLSWPA makes dreams come true for children who desire to play ball just like their brothers, sisters and friends. All Directors, Officers, affiliated local athletic associations and volunteers shall bear in mind that the attainment of exceptional athletic skill or the winning of games is secondary, and the molding of future citizens is of prime importance.
